Job summary

Volt Africa in Cape Town is seeking a dynamic Business Development professional to identify and close new advertising opportunities across corporate, SME, agency, retail and other sectors. You will drive digital, social media, website and magazine sales while building lasting client relationships.

You will collaborate with editorial, digital, creative and marketing teams to tailor campaigns, present media packages, and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to delivery, ensuring targets

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development and advertising sales.
• Experience selling to businesses, brands, media agencies or marketing departments is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media platforms.
• Knowledge of online advertising, sponsored content, social media campaigns, display advertising.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Strong prospecting and time-management abilities.
• Commercially driven with a proven ability to meet sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across corporate, SME, agency, retail and other sectors.
• Drive advertising sales across digital, social media, website and magazine platforms.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with advertisers, media agencies and business owners.
• Proactively prospect for new clients through calls, meetings, networking, referrals, email and social media.
• Understand clients' marketing objectives and recommend relevant advertising solutions and campaigns.
• Develop and present customised digital and social media advertising proposals, media packages and campaigns.
• Promote integrated advertising solutions combining digital and social media exposure.
• Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Manage the complete sales cycle, from prospecting and pitching through negotiation, closing, campaign delivery and follow-up.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, media plans, presentations and sales reports.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities in digital advertising and social media.
• Work closely with editorial, digital, creative, marketing and production teams to ensure successful campaign execution.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, client activity and sales performance.
• Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional advertising products and platforms.
• Attend industry events, networking opportunities and client meetings to expand the company's commercial network.
