National Recruiting Specialists is seeking an experienced tax professional based in Sandton, South Africa, to lead senior tax advisory efforts for a multinational or multi-jurisdictional organisation. The role covers corporate structures, cross-border taxes, indirect taxes, and transfer pricing across complex transactions.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant bachelor’s degree with a postgraduate tax qualification or equivalent, with CA(SA) or admitted attorney status preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or Law combined with a recognised postgraduate tax qualification or equivalent professional tax specialisation.
• CA(SA) or admitted attorney with tax specialisation is preferred.
• Membership in good standing of a professional body is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Corporate and transaction structuring.
• International and cross-border tax, including withholding tax and treaty application.
• Indirect tax and customer or supplier transaction flows.
• Transfer pricing and intercompany agreements.
• Cash repatriation and intercompany funding.
• Employment taxes, payroll and employee benefit structures.
• Commercial contract review and negotiation.
• Tax authority audits, objections and disputes.
• Managing external advisers and forming technical recommendations.

Job description

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum: Relevant bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or Law, together with a recognised postgraduate tax qualification or equivalent professional tax specialisation.
• Preferred: CA(SA), admitted attorney with tax specialisation, MCom Tax, Higher Diploma in Taxation or equivalent recognised professional qualification.
• Professional standing: Membership in good standing of an appropriate accounting, legal or tax professional body is advantageous.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum 7 years of relevant tax experience, including at least 3 years in a senior tax advisory, tax management or inhouse tax position within a multinational or multi-jurisdictional organisation.

The incumbent must demonstrate relevant experience in:

• Corporate and transaction structuring.
• International and cross-border tax, including withholding tax and treaty application.
• Indirect tax and customer or supplier transaction flows.
• Transfer pricing and intercompany agreements.
• Cash repatriation and intercompany funding.
• Employment taxes, payroll and employee benefit structures.
• Commercial contract review and negotiation.
