Job summary

Acumen Group in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Group Tax Manager to lead the tax function across a diverse international group. The role focuses on international tax, transfer pricing, tax advisory, and governance in a commercially oriented environment.

You will engage with senior leadership, steer tax strategy, and oversee compliance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions. This is an in-office, Johannesburg-based opportunity for a strategic tax leader.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or Tax degree.
• 4-6 years of relevant experience in corporate tax.
• Extensive international tax and transfer pricing experience.
• Experience managing tax risk, compliance, and reporting.
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and provide commercial tax advice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Group tax function.
• Provide strategic tax advice to the business and executive stakeholders.
• Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation.
• Oversee international and cross-border tax matters.
• Coordinate external tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage corporate income tax, indirect taxes, and withholding taxes.
• Oversee tax compliance and reporting processes.
• Drive tax risk management and governance initiatives.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, restructures, and other strategic projects.
• Partner closely with Finance and senior leadership teams.
