Job summary

Humankind Group is seeking a technically strong Chartered Accountant to join its Group Finance function. The ideal candidate will be a CA(SA) with strong IFRS experience and a hands-on approach to financial reporting and group consolidation across multiple entities.

You will report to the Financial Manager and take ownership of technically complex accounting matters, including IFRS 16 lease accounting and consolidation processes.

Qualifications

• Must have strong IFRS and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience with intercompany eliminations and consolidation accounting.
• Ability to produce and review technical papers and memos.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly IFRS group consolidations.
• Prepare consolidation journals and intercompany eliminations.
• Account for associates and non-controlling interests.
• Prepare consolidated balance sheets, income statements and cash flows.
• Support annual financial statement preparation and review.
• Manage accounting for acquisitions, disposals and group changes.
• Review intercompany balances and reconcile discrepancies.
• Liaise with external auditors and resolve audit queries.

Job description

A leading organisation is looking for a technically strong CA to join its Group Finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CA(SA) with strong IFRS and group consolidation experience who wants to work in a hands-on financial reporting environment and take ownership of technically complex group accounting matters.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Group's consolidation and financial reporting activities across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing monthly IFRS group consolidations
• Preparing consolidation journals and intercompany eliminations
• Accounting for associates and non-controlling interests
• Preparing consolidated balance sheets, income statements and cash flows
• Supporting annual financial statement preparation and review
• Managing accounting for acquisitions, disposals and group structural changes
• Reviewing intercompany balances and resolving discrepancies
• Reviewing subsidiary balance sheet reconciliations
• Managing fixed asset and CAPEX reviews
• Reviewing IFRS 16 lease accounting reconciliations
• Preparing technical accounting papers and memos
• Supporting subsidiary finance teams on technical accounting matters
• Liaising with external auditors and resolving audit queries

Supporting group-level financial reporting and technical requirements

What We're Looking For
