Placements24 is seeking a Graduate Trainee Accountant in George, Western Cape. You will be immersed in daily finance operations, contributing to financial reporting and analysis, while receiving strong mentorship and structured training in accounting principles.

This role offers hands-on experience across statements, payroll, budgets, and audits, with a clear path toward professional designations and growth within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Strong understanding of IFRS or GAAP.
• Excellent numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Available to work full-time in George, Western Cape.
• Completion of SAIPA/SAICA articles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Participate in the reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Help with the processing of payroll and related entries.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Conduct basic financial analysis and provide supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Aid in audit preparation and support internal audit processes.
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
• Learn and utilize accounting software and systems effectively.
