Placements24 is recruiting an Apprentice Accountant to join their Bloemfontein finance team. This role blends in-office learning with remote work, giving hands-on exposure to core accounting tasks while you complete practical training toward professional qualifications.

You will support bookkeeping, invoicing, reconciliations, payroll support, and tax filings, guided by experienced accountants. The program offers mentorship, structured training, and opportunities to gain qualifications

Qualifications

• Interest in accounting and finance
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting practices and software
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment
• Must be based in or willing to commute to Bloemfontein for office-based tasks

Responsibilities

• Assist with bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
• Process invoices, payments, and receipts
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Help prepare financial reports and statements
• Support with payroll processing and related tasks
• Assist in preparing tax documentation and filings
• Learn and utilize accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks)
• Adhere to accounting principles and company policies
• Provide support during financial audits
