Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape, seeks a motivated Graduate Junior Accountant to join our finance team. You will gain practical experience in day-to-day accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger tasks while working with real financial data.

You will be based full-time at our Upington office. The role offers hands-on training, mentorship from experienced accountants, and opportunities to pursue SAIPA or SAICA articles as you grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions required).
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team in Upington, Northern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist in bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Support in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Handle petty cash and other financial documentation.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Contribute to process improvements within the accounting department.
