Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a bright and motivated Graduate Chemical Engineer to join the Process Control team in Bloemfontein. This entry‑level role focuses on automation, control systems, and optimizing chemical processes using advanced technology.

You will work closely with experienced engineers to implement, maintain, and enhance process control strategies in a state‑of‑the‑art facility in the Free State. You will be mentored by senior control engineers, gain hands‑on experience with DCS/PLC

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
Foundational knowledge of process control principles, instrumentation, and feedback loops.
Familiarity with control system software (DCS, PLC) is a plus.
Limited to no prior professional experience; internships or co-op experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design, implementation, and tuning of process control loops and systems.
Monitor the performance of automated control systems and identify areas for improvement.
Support the troubleshooting of control system issues and provide technical assistance to operations personnel.
Participate in projects related to advanced process control (APC) and automation upgrades.
Maintain process control documentation, including P&IDs, control narratives, and loop diagrams.
Learn and apply principles of instrumentation and control theory in a practical industrial setting.
