Job summary

Curro Sandown in Cape Town is seeking an Intermediate Phase Teacher (Grades 4) for a full-time position starting January 2027. You will teach and coordinate subjects per the Curro curriculum, aiming for active learning and learner growth.

Requirements include a BEd or PGCE in the intermediate phase, at least 2 years' experience, CAPS knowledge, and strong communication and planning skills. Preference may be given to EE candidates.

Qualifications

• BEd and/or PGCE in intermediate phase teaching.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an intermediate phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the CAPS curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate a range of subjects as per Curro curriculum.
• Plan lessons using modern tools and assess academic progress.
• Manage classroom design, discipline, and parent communication.
• Set up and manage assessments and moderation.
• Plan and manage homework per subject and peer marking.
• Coordinate extramural activities and outings.
