Job summary

Nova Pioneer is seeking a Foundation Phase (Grade 1) teacher to start January 2027 at the Midrand Campus. The role involves leading engaging, enquiry-based lessons and collaborating with Deans of Instruction to grow alongside apprentice teachers.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Education or Bachelors + PGCE, SACE registration, and comfort with technology-enabled instruction. A supportive team, and opportunities for professional growth, are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or Bachelors + PGCE.
• SACE registered with eligibility for teaching in SA.
• Cambridge curriculum knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to lead a classroom independently.
• Passion for teaching and student success.
• Strong understanding of enquiry-based, student-centered learning.
• Team player with collaborative mindset.
• Comfort using technology to enhance instruction.

Responsibilities

• Design impactful lessons with learning designers.
• Deliver engaging enquiry-based lessons with tech support.
• Observe and coach Apprentice teachers.
• Foster joy and ambition in student learning.
• Set rigorous goals and provide feedback to students.
• Use assessment data to adapt instruction.
• Attend weekly feedback with Deans and designers.
• Participate in professional development and team meetings.
• Communicate with parents via email/phone/meetings.
• Contribute to co-curricular activities and events.
• Engage in collaborative teams and supervision duties.
