Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Process Plant Operator for a gold processing facility in Welkom. You will safely operate units like crushing, milling, flotation, and leaching, ensuring optimal gold recovery and compliance with safety standards.

You will monitor parameters, perform routine checks, collect samples, and maintain logs while adhering to procedures and environmental guidelines. This on-site role emphasizes teamwork and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• National Certificate or Trade Qualification (e.g., Process Control) is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an operator in a mineral processing plant, preferably gold.
• Knowledge of metallurgical processes and chemical handling.
• Ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams (PFDs).
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant equipment such as pumps, conveyors, filters, and centrifuges.
• Control process parameters (flow rates, densities, temperatures) to meet production targets.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on equipment; report malfunctions.
• Collect samples for quality control analysis and interpret data.
• Adhere to safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and operational protocols.
• Maintain accurate logs of operations and process variables.
