Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Sea Import Controller to join a well-established freight forwarder in South Africa. The role entails end-to-end import/export operations, liaison with service providers, and ensuring accurate documentation and timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in import/export logistics, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of Incoterms and ERP systems. Afrikaans ability may be advantageous and helpful in this role.

Qualifications

• Matric / Senior Certificate required.
• Diploma or degree in International Trade, Logistics or related field preferred.
• 35 years? experience in Import & Export Operations role (as stated).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate international import and export cargo from origin through to final delivery.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, shipping lines and transport providers.
• Coordinate with overseas suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to ensure shipments move on schedule.
• Verify shipping documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate customs clearance and delivery requirements.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide status updates to customers and stakeholders.
