Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Telecommunications Solutions Architect to design and implement advanced network solutions for a global client base. This fully remote, contractor role demands strategic vision, strong technical leadership, and expertise in IP/MPLS/DWDM, cloud-native architectures, and security.

You will work independently, collaborating with international teams to deliver robust, scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent experience in Telecommunications Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in telecommunications network design and architecture.
• Expertise in designing and implementing large-scale IP-based networks, MPLS, DWDM, and wireless solutions.
• Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures, virtualization (VMware, KVM), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with SDN/NFV concepts and practical applications.
• Strong cybersecurity understanding and network security implementation.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work autonomously on multiple projects in a remote setting.
• Certifications (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, AWS SA) are advantageous.
• Scripting experience (Python) for automation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design comprehensive telecommunications solutions (voice, data, video).
• Create high-level and low-level design documents for network infrastructure.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors for innovative solutions.
• Collaborate across sales, engineering, and operations to translate requirements into designs.
• Provide technical leadership through project lifecycles from conception to deployment.
• Maintain documentation for architectural designs for implementation teams.
• Deliver technical presentations and workshops for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, security best practices, and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex architectural and integration challenges remotely.
