Job summary

Exceed HR and Recruitment is seeking a Group Financial Controller in Stellenbosch to oversee financial control, reporting and governance across multiple international entities. The role emphasizes group consolidations, treasury management, and cross-border funding.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years post-qualification experience, group controllership exposure, and strong proficiency in Excel with Xero or similar platforms.

Qualifications

• Accounting or Finance degree with a professional designation (CA(SA), CIMA/CGMA, ACCA, SAIPA or Chartered BAP).
• Minimum 8 years’ post-qualification financial management experience.
• At least 3 years’ experience in group or multi-entity controllership.
• Proven experience with group consolidations and intercompany eliminations.
• Strong multi-currency accounting and cross-border transaction experience.
• Experience managing tax compliance and end-to-end audits across multiple entities.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Xero, Joiin, Sage or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare group consolidations, management accounts and board reporting packs.
• Manage multi-currency treasury operations, cash flow and foreign exchange exposure.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations and cross-border funding.
• Ensure tax compliance, statutory reporting and consistent accounting policies.
• Manage group audits, coordinate auditors and resolve outstanding findings.
• Develop audit dashboards, reporting calendars and compliance tracking systems.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial models.
• Collaborate with international advisers and finance teams.
• Drive financial process improvements, automation and reporting accuracy.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and financial insights to senior management.
