Job summary

Access World in Durban seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse activities, oversee receiving, storage and dispatch, and coordinate Team Leaders and staff to meet client requirements.

The role focuses on inventory accuracy, planning, safety compliance and continuous improvement within a logistics environment, with emphasis on accountability and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations management within logistics, freight or supply chain environments.
• At least 3 years’ experience supervising teams within warehouse or distribution environments.
• Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (NQF Level 6) completed.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (NQF Level 7).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations including receiving, storage and dispatch to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Coordinate Team Leaders and operational teams to align activities with client requirements.
• Manage inventory processes to ensure accurate stock levels and record integrity.
• Plan and schedule operational activities to optimise resources, workflow and productivity.
• Drive adherence to health and safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
• Track and analyse operational performance metrics to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Lead, coach and develop Team Leaders to deliver consistent, high-quality performance.

Education

Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (NQF Level 6)

Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (NQF Level 7)
