Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Geotechnical Engineer to join their George team in the Western Cape. You will assess ground conditions, design foundations, retainage walls and slope stabilization, and provide expert recommendations for a range of construction projects.
The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with geotechnical specialization and at least five years of field and design experience. You will conduct site investigations, analyze data, prepare reports, and liaise with clients
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical focus.
- At least 5 years of geotechnical investigations and design experience.
- Knowledge of soil/rock mechanics and foundation engineering.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site investigations (drilling, sampling, in-situ tests).
- Analyze soil/rock data to determine engineering properties.
- Design foundations, retaining walls, slope stabilization.
- Prepare geotechnical reports with recommendations.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and consultants.
- Oversee geotechnical aspects during construction.
