Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Genetics Researcher with a Bioinformatics focus to join our R&D team in Centurion. You will analyze large-scale genomic datasets, develop methods for variant calling and multi-omics integration, and translate findings into actionable insights for health research.

You will collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians, apply advanced computational tools, and communicate complex results to diverse audiences in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics or closely related quantitative field.
• Experience analyzing next-generation sequencing data (WGS, WES, RNA-Seq).
• Proficiency in Python, R, and shell scripting; familiarity with population genetics and ML concepts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets using bioinformatics pipelines.
• Develop methods for variant calling, annotation, and association studies.
• Integrate multi-omics data to uncover biological insights.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to design studies and interpret results.
• Visualize and communicate genetic findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
