You will build relationships with investors, government bodies, financial institutions and chambers of commerce, coordinate investment promotion activities and international outward missions to promote Gauteng as an investment destination.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree or NQF Level 8 in commerce, investments or related enterprise discipline.
• At least five years of management experience in a commerce, investment or enterprise-related environment.
• Knowledge of the business environment, stakeholders and governance requirements.
• Understanding of foreign and local economic development environment.
• Ability to define, scope, plan and execute projects using established project management methodologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across organisational levels.
• Strategic thinking with commercial awareness.
• Ability to manage resources with governance and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualise and implement proactive investment lead-generation strategies and investor targeting plans.
• Identify local and international source markets, prospective investors and companies seeking new investment locations.
• Develop and promote existing and projected business and investment opportunities.
• Establish and manage investment lead evaluation, monitoring and control processes.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with investors, government agencies, financial institutions and chambers of commerce.
• Develop cooperation agreements and partnerships to engage prospective investors.
• Design and implement sector strategies aligned with economic development mandates.
• Plan and coordinate investment promotion activities and international outward missions.
• Represent the organisation at industry forums and promote Gauteng as an investment destination.
• Work with government partners to strengthen the investment climate and ease of doing business.
• Develop stakeholder communication strategies and oversee engagement with business and public.
• Establish effective operational coordination and internal controls within the unit.
• Ensure transparent use of financial and other resources.
• Develop and monitor plans to convert opportunities into concrete projects.
• Contribute to targets relating to investment attraction, economic development and sustainable job creation.
