Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced HGV driver to manage deliveries across the Gauteng region, operating from a Pretoria hub. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and professional conduct in maintaining steady supply to retail and commercial clients.

Ideal candidates will have PDP, Code 10/14, 3+ years of HGV experience, and strong route knowledge. Training and development opportunities are provided within a reputable logistics network.

Qualifications

• Valid PDP and Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s license.
• Minimum 3 years of HGV driving experience in Gauteng.
• Clean driving record with no major infringements.
• Ability to load/unload and handle cargo safely.
• Good knowledge of Gauteng road network and traffic patterns.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) safely and efficiently for deliveries within Gauteng.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report defects.
• Load and secure cargo to prevent damage during transit.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Plan delivery routes for timely, efficient service.
• Maintain delivery records, logs, and proof of delivery.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery points.
• Communicate route progress and issues with dispatch.
