Placements24 in Vereeniging, Gauteng, South Africa, is seeking an experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver for long-haul routes across provinces. The role requires an exemplary driving record, PDP, and at least 5 years of verifiable long-haul experience with strong route planning and safety focus.

The successful candidate will operate a modern fleet, maintain delivery schedules, and report in to the operations center with professionalism.

Qualifications

Experience driving heavy goods vehicles on long-haul routes.
Strong safety and regulatory compliance knowledge.
Excellent knowledge of national road networks and driving conditions.
Ability to manage driving hours and fatigue regulations.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy goods vehicles safely and efficiently on long-haul routes.
Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and load.
Load and unload cargo following company procedures for handling goods.
Plan and navigate routes, considering traffic, road conditions, and deadlines.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries.
Keep the vehicle clean and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Adhere to all company policies, traffic laws, and regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics teams regarding route status and delays.
Maintain a high level of professionalism in client and public interactions.
