Job summary

Weylandts in South Africa is seeking a General Worker to support upholstery and furniture manufacturing. The role involves assisting with production, handling materials, and collaborating with upholsterers, machinists, carpenters, and packers to ensure smooth operations.

The position requires basic communication skills, a willingness to work in a team, and flexibility to work overtime. Prior factory experience is advantageous, and Grade 10/Matric is preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or Matric completed.
• Experience in manufacturing or factory setting is advantageous.
• Frame making experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with manufacturing of furniture products according to work instructions.
• Load, unload, and transport materials within the factory.
• Support upholsterers, machinists, carpenters, assemblers, sanders, and packers.
• Prepare materials, tools, and workstations before production begins.
• Perform basic assembly and fitting of furniture components.
• Assist with wrapping, packing, and labeling finished products.
• Load products for delivery when required.
• Verify quantities and product codes before dispatch.
• Follow quality standards and report defects to supervisors.
• Wear PPE and follow health and safety procedures.
