Job summary

Weylandts is seeking a Junior Product Developer to support the product development lifecycle for new furniture and homeware. You will assist with supplier briefs, sampling, costing, and creating technical drawings and assembly instructions to ensure accurate specs.

The role requires 1–2 years in product development or design, a 3-year drafting/industrial design diploma, and proficiency in AutoCAD or Fusion 360. A driver’s license and reliable transport are desirable.

Qualifications

• 3-year diploma in drafting or industrial design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or Fusion 360 for drawings.
• 1–2 years in product development, coordination or design.
• Organised, with a driver’s license and reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Product Developer with supplier briefs for new designs.
• Follow up on sampling and costing to meet internal deadlines.
• Prepare technical drawings and assembly instructions as needed.
• Keep up-to-date filing of product development designs and specs.
• Compile spec sheets for sign-off by supplier and buyer.
• Coordinate with internal teams to relay new product information.
