Job summary

Mediclinic Southern Africa Corporate Office is seeking a role focused on funder relations, effective negotiations, and business development to grow the organisation while mitigating risk.

The ideal candidate will have a 4-year commerce or healthcare-related degree and 3–5 years in a similar role, preferably in private healthcare or hospital settings. Strong financial acumen and proficiency with MS Office are essential.

• 4-year Commerce qualification or healthcare industry-related tertiary education (eg. degree in Pharmacology, etc.)
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role; private healthcare / hospital experience
• 5 years' relevant experience; relevant medical scheme/ private hospital industry experience; negotiation and sales
• Experience with funder environments, tariff negotiations, and network development

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To ensure that the organisation’s strategic objectives and obligations as it pertains to funders and relevant stakeholders are met through effective negotiations, strategic relationship management and business development that grows the business and strengthens Mediclinic’s reputation while mitigating risks

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

• 4-year Commerce qualification or healthcare industry-related tertiary education (eg. degree in Pharmacology, etc.)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role; private healthcare / hospital experience

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years' relevant experience; relevant medical scheme/ private hospital industry experience; negotiation and sales

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Funder environment, including third party arrangements and the associated complexities relating to tariff negotiations, benefit design and network development

• Understanding of operations of a hospital as a business entity

• Myriad tariff structures, including Alternative Reimbursement Models
