Job summary

Vine Recruitment is seeking an experienced Front of House Manager for a Stellenbosch-based hospitality client. You will oversee guest-facing operations across the Wine Tasting Centre, Farm Shop and Restaurant, ensuring a warm, professional and seamless guest journey.

The ideal candidate leads with hands-on leadership, communicates effectively, and maintains high service standards while coordinating daily FOH activities and small events in a busy, boutique setting.

Front of House Manager job vacancy in Stellenbosch.

Our client in Stellenbosch is looking for an experienced, energetic and hands‑on Front of House Manager to oversee the guest‑facing operations across our Wine Tasting Centre, Farm Shop and Restaurant.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working in a hospitality environment, has strong people and organisational skills, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day‑to‑day front‑of‑house operations across the Wine Tasting Centre, Farm Shop and Restaurant.
• Ensure a consistently warm, professional and positive guest experience.
• Lead, manage and motivate the FOH team, including training, performance management and day‑to‑day supervision.
• Prepare and manage staff rosters and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Manage stock control, ordering and inventory across the relevant departments.
• Oversee and assist with sourcing new and interesting products for the Farm Shop.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and service.
• Handle guest queries, feedback and complaints professionally.
• Assist with the planning, coordination and hosting of small events and functions.
• Work closely with the kitchen, management and wider farm team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve service, sales and the overall guest offering.

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who:

• Has proven FOH management experience, ideally within a restaurant, wine estate, boutique hospitality or similar environment.
• Is confident managing and leading a team.
• Is highly organised and able to multitask in a busy environment.
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is hands‑on, proactive and willing to get involved in all aspects of the operation.
• Has strong attention to detail and high standards of service.
• Has an interest in food, wine, hospitality and retail.
• Is commercially minded, with an understanding of stock, ordering and cost management.
• Is comfortable hosting guests and small events.
• An interest in, or experience with, padel would be advantageous, given our wider offerings.
