Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a skilled software engineer in Johannesburg to translate business requirements into robust technical specifications and develop solutions. The role covers modern engineering practices including DevOps and Agile, with hands-on work across Angular, Java 8/11, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and React v18.

You will engage in API work (REST/GraphQL) and testing frameworks like BDD and TDD.

Qualifications

• 5+ years translating business and functional requirements into technical specifications and developing the programming code to create the solutions.
• Experience across multiple IT Engineering disciplines with modernization practices (DevOps, Agile).
• Hands-on programming in Angular, Java 8/11, Spring MVC/Spring Boot, React v18, and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• To apply computer science theories to create, refactor moderate to complex programs/scripts, integration software services.
• To design complex specifications, code, test, debug, enhance programs within Continuous Delivery pipelines and provide support and maintenance.
• To execute software developer responsibilities according to engineering practice, standards, frameworks and architects application standards.
• Participate in reviews of colleagues' work.

• Minimum 5 years experience in translating business and functional requirements into technical specifications and developing the programming code to create the solutions.
• Proven experience in modern engineering practices i.e. dev ops, agile etc., Proven experience across multiple, broad IT Engineering disciplines, with demonstrated specialization in at least one.
• Experience within the required scope of expertise. With Technical experience in Angular, Java 8/11, Spring MVC, Springboot, React v18 , Jenkins, APIs (Rest, GraphQL), Nexus Repository OSS, BDD - E2E Testing - Cucumber, Puppeteer, Chai, TDD.\
