Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in Sandton seeks an experienced software engineer with a strong background in front-end and back-end development. The role requires deep expertise in Angular, NodeJS, and SQL MSSQL, with experience in NX monorepos, microservices, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.

You will design, build, and deliver robust applications while guiding junior developers. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of programming experience and holds a related engineering or informatics degree.

Qualifications

• A degree in commerce, engineering or informatics or related field.
• At least 10 years of programming experience.
• Familiar with one or more languages relevant to the department.
• System design experience is advantageous.
• Strong UI development skills with 5+ years experience.
• Experience with Angular (2+) and Angular Material.
• Proficiency in NodeJS and NX monorepo concepts.
• Knowledge of microservices and micro frontend concepts.
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker.
• Strong backend and frontend development foundations.
• Strong MSSQL SQL skills.
• Experience with workflow tools like TIBCO AMX or Camundo is advantageous.
• Experience with Drools or other rules engines is advantageous.

• Comply, understand, and implement all steps within IT development and meet governance in terms of legislative andaudit requirements during programming execution.
• Assess, identify, and mitigate potential risks within the IT programming environment by complying with technologybusiness policy and process requirements (SDLC and change / release management process definition) to ensureoperational performance.
• Produce technical specifications and architecture that is in accordance to agreed standards.
• Design, code, test and debugto obtain a robust solution with supporting documentation.
• Minimize system downtime through pro-active identification of potential issues and ensure minimization of recurringproblems by managing defects and performing code reviews.
• Monitor systems post change and pro-actively do performance analysis to ensure there is no system failure due to capacity.
• Maintain maximum system availability by ensuring that incidents are recorded for future reference and adequate rootcause analysis is done to eliminate the risk of a recurrence.
• Manage own development to increase own competencies and develop technical and business skills.
• Proactively engage with business units and colleagues to understand underlying needs and opportunities and identify.
• Information Technology (IT) innovative solutions in a timely manner.
• Supervises the work of other developers. Provides technical assistance to fellow developers and other InformationTechnology (IT) team members.
