Job summary

Placements24 in Mpumalanga is seeking a Logistics Analyst specializing in Freight Cost Management to audit freight invoices, analyze spend, and optimize carrier selection in a hybrid work setup in Nelspruit.

The role requires 3–5 years in logistics or freight auditing, a degree in logistics or related field, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with TMS and Incoterms to support cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation management, or freight auditing.
Strong understanding of transportation modes and cost structures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Experience with TMS and freight auditing software is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Audit freight invoices against carrier agreements, tariffs and docs for accuracy.
Analyze transportation spend across carriers, modes and lanes for cost savings.
Develop and maintain freight rate databases and carrier performance metrics.
Collaborate with logistics team to optimize routing and carrier selection.
Investigate and resolve freight bill discrepancies with carriers.
Prepare regular reports on freight spend, savings initiatives and budget adherence.
Assist in negotiating freight rates and service agreements with providers.
Monitor industry freight market trends to support strategic decisions.
Ensure compliance with financial and logistical procedures related to freight payments.
Utilize logistics software and analytical tools to support freight cost management.
