Job summary

Pronel Consultants seeks an experienced Foundry Team Leader/Supervisor to drive production, maintain quality and safety, and reduce scrap at our Pietermaritzburg foundry. You will lead a hands-on team, train staff and coordinate withMaintenance, Planning and Quality to ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years supervisory experience in a foundry and strong knowledge of gravity and high-pressure die casting processes. A hands-on approach is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years supervisory experience in a foundry.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Gravity & High Pressure Die Casting machine setting and basic fault-finding.
• Strong technical and process knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Strong communication and people-management skills.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, quality and compliance standards.
• Understanding of Lean / Continuous Improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Driving production and team performance.
• Maintaining quality standards.
• Monitoring and reducing scrap.
• Ensuring Health & Safety compliance.
• Managing staff utilisation, attendance and performance.
• Coordinating with Maintenance, Toolroom, Stores, Planning and Quality.
• Ensuring equipment and tooling are available and production plans are achieved.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives.
