Job summary

IntelliStaff is seeking a Plant/Production Manager to ensure safe operations and coordinate production activities for high-quality castings in the foundry sector. You will lead, train, and develop foremen and staff to meet safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals.

The role requires a four-year Metallurgy engineering degree, 7+ years in industry, and 5+ years in management, with strong budgeting and leadership skills. Benoni, Gauteng location on-site.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year engineering degree in Metallurgy or related fields.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience, preferably in foundry/heavy industry; at least 5 years in management.
• Ability to direct operational activities to meet objectives.
• Proven people management skills and budget control.

Responsibilities

• Direct HSE efforts to meet goals.
• Organise and direct production department activities to achieve quality, throughput and cost objectives.
• Monitor flow of castings to ensure stable throughput and on-time completion.
• Participate with other managers in long-range planning and company management.
• Consult on quality standards, production control and HR issues.
• Oversee department budgets to control direct labour, materials and equipment costs.
• Develop and support direct reports to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals.
• Ensure proper departmental training and management succession.
