Job summary

Curro Salt Rock in Ballito seeks a dedicated Foundation Phase Teacher (full-time) to commence duties in December 2026. The role involves teaching and coordinating foundation phase subjects per the Curro curriculum, with emphasis on active teaching, knowledge transfer and learner development.

The ideal candidate will hold a BEd or PGCE in foundation phase, have at least 2 years of experience, and be familiar with the IEB curriculum.

Qualifications

• Must hold BEd and/or PGCE in foundation phase education, with an honours degree advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a foundation phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate foundation phase subjects per Curro curriculum.
• Plan lessons using modern tools and resources, prepare workbooks and track progress.
• Review and adjust term plans; design customised plans to support pace and lessons; organise parent meetings.
• Manage classroom environment, discipline, and communication with learners and parents.
• Oversee assessments, moderation and intervention plans; manage revision packs.
• Plan and manage homework and reading progress; coordinate extramural activities and outings.
