Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Formulation Scientist to lead the development of innovative pharmaceutical dosage forms at a modern Richards Bay facility. You will design, develop, and optimize formulations, perform pre-formulation studies, and supervise scale-up for commercial production within a collaborative team focused on patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in Pharmaceutics (or related field) with 5+ years in formulation development, including solid dosage forms, and

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Proven expertise in dosage form development, including solid dosage forms.
• Knowledge of excipient selection and physicochemical characterization techniques.
• Familiarity with GMP manufacturing principles and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop novel oral solid dosage forms (tablets, capsules) and other relevant dosage forms.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies to characterize drug substances and excipients.
• Optimize formulation parameters for release, stability, and bioavailability.
• Oversee pilot-scale manufacturing and technology transfer to production.
