Job summary

Vine Recruitment in Atlantis seeks an experienced Forklift Technician to maintain, fault-find, and repair electric, diesel, and LPG forklifts. The role covers preventative maintenance, diagnostics, welding, and parts stock control in a busy workshop.

You will work independently, ensure safety standards, and keep precise maintenance records while contributing to a well-organised workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Forklift Technician / Heavy Equipment Technician / Diesel Mechanic.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Welding and fabrication skills will be advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on forklifts.
• Inspect engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems and wiring.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Test hydraulic and pneumatic systems and identify leaks or faulty components.
• Repair, rebuild and replace components including transmissions, motors and steering systems.
• Weld, solder and fabricate metal components where required.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Order replacement parts and assist with stock control.
• Maintain accurate service, repair and maintenance records.
• Follow all safety procedures and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
