Job summary

West Coast Personnel is seeking a technically skilled forklift technician to service and repair electric, diesel and LPG forklifts in Atlantis. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform repairs, and ensure safety standards are met.

The ideal candidate has 4-5+ years in forklift environments, trade qualifications, and a proactive approach to maintenance and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

  • 4 - 5+ years' experience in a forklift environment.
  • Qualified/Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician or Millwright.
  • Proven forklift servicing, maintenance and repair experience.
  • Experience with electric, diesel and propane/LPG forklifts.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and diagnostic equipment.
  • Welding, soldering and basic fabrication skills advantageous.
  • Good understanding of workplace safety requirements.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain electric, diesel and propane/LPG forklifts in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
  • Repair, rebuild or replace components including transmissions, motors, steering and hydraulic systems.
  • Carry out welding, soldering and basic fabrication where required.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure safe and correct operation.
  • Identify and order replacement parts and assist with workshop stock control.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records and service histories.
  • Report additional faults, repair requirements and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
  • Ensure all work meets required safety, quality and manufacturer standards.
