Job summary

West Coast Personnel in Atlantis, Cape Town is seeking a hands-on Forklift Technician with a trade test in Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician or Millwright. You’ll service, inspect and repair forklifts across electric, diesel and LPG, using diagnostic equipment and ensuring safety standards.

If you have 4–5 years’ forklift experience, a valid licence, and can work independently or with a team, this role offers a company vehicle and a path to keep machines operational.

Qualifications

• At least 4–5 years’ experience servicing and repairing forklifts.
• Trade test as Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician or Millwright.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• A valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect and repair forklifts to manufacturer and safety standards.
• Work includes engines, transmissions, motors, brakes, steering, electrical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Use diagnostic equipment to find faults, rebuild or replace components, and test machines before they return to service.
• Identify parts needed for repairs, help control workshop stock, keep service and repair records up to date.
• Welding, soldering and basic fabrication skills would be an advantage.
• Work independently and with the team.
