Job summary

Profile Personnel is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician in East London to service forklifts and related equipment. You will perform mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance, diagnose faults and conduct inspections on customer sites.

The role requires a diesel/petrol mechanic background, forklift qualifications and strong reading of schematics, with a focus on safety, quality and customer service. Standby and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Diesel and/or Petrol Mechanic with forklift/material-handling equipment experience, or Qualified Forklift Mechanic.
• 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance relating to forklifts.
• Strong knowledge of auto-electrical systems.
• Trade Test Certificate – Mechanic.
• Valid forklift operator licence.
• Code 8 driver’s licence.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and technical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams and technical documentation.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Self-motivated, reliable and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
• Physically fit and able to perform the requirements of a hands-on field service role.
• Willingness to work standby and overtime when required.

Responsibilities
