Job summary

The Talent Room in George is seeking a qualified forklift mechanic to service and repair forklifts on-site. You will diagnose mechanical faults, perform preventive maintenance, and attend breakdowns at client sites.

You must travel to client sites, work in the George workshop when required, and complete accurate service reports. Strong fault-finding, hydraulics and electrical diagnostics skills, plus a valid driver’s license, are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified or experienced Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic.
• Forklift repair experience is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with hydraulic systems is an advantage.
• Basic electrical and diagnostic experience.
• Ability to work independently and on-site.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to travel to client sites.
• Reliable, responsible and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain forklifts.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults.
• Carry out preventative maintenance.
• Attend to breakdowns at client sites.
• Travel to client sites to inspect and repair forklifts.
• Work on forklifts in the workshop in George.
• Identify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Ensure forklifts are safe, reliable and ready for operation.
• Assist with general mechanical maintenance when required.
