Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Durban seeks a forklift operator to support warehouse operations, ensuring safe and efficient loading, unloading, and stock handling. You will follow FIFO/FEFO principles, verify quantities and batch numbers, and maintain accurate pallet records.

Responsibilities include performing pre-shift checklists, reporting faults, organizing pallet storage by colour code (5S), and coordinating with the Warehouse Manager to ensure correct stock is moved and documented accurately.

• Ensure forklift is in good working condition by completing the pre-shift checklist.
• Report damages or faults to Warehouse Manager.
• Ensure correct stock is picked and loaded by verifying quantity, quality, description, manufacturing date and best before date.
• Count and record pallets loaded.
• Sort pallets by colour code and maintain 5S in warehouse.
• Handle loads of finished goods, raw material and packaging.
• Offload delivery trucks and reconcile paperwork with stock; record material and batch numbers.
• Apply FIFO, FEFO, binning and 5S principles.
• Transfer finished goods to allocated warehouse spaces.

Job description

What will you do:

• Ensure that the forklift is in good working condition by completing the checklist before operating the machine(FMX).
• Report damages or faults to the Forklift to Warehouse Manager
• Ensure correct stock is picked and loaded by checking quantity, quality, description, manufacturing date and best before date.
• Count and record the number of pallets loaded
• Ensure pallets at the pallet area are sorted by colour code and in a safe manner(5S)
• Loads of finished goods, raw material and packaging.
• Offloading of delivery trucks, checking paperwork vs stock on truck, use foods connect device to record material and batch numbers.
• Clear understanding of FIFO, FEFO, binning and 5S.
• Transfers finished goods to allocated space in warehouse.
