Job summary

The Tsebo Solutions Group is hiring a Food Service Assistant to join one of our sites. You will assist with basic food preparation, meal serving, and maintaining clean service areas in line with health and safety standards.

You’ll support front-of-house duties, manage dining areas during peak times, and ensure products are presented attractively. The role requires flexibility for shifts, weekends, and public holidays, with a physically active environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service, or a similar environment will be advantageous.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety principles.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and meal serving.
• Prepare dining and service areas before meal periods.
• Serve food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ensure food is presented attractively and according to company standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchens, serving areas, dining rooms, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and catering equipment as required.
• Follow food safety, health, and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when required.
• Support stock rotation and waste minimisation practices.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond positively to customer requests.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
