Job summary

Montego is seeking a Quality Controller to ensure our products meet strict quality, food safety and consistency standards across raw materials, production, and finished goods.

You will inspect materials, check batch numbers and expiry dates, monitor hygiene and OHS standards, and support QA documentation and production records. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials, packaging and storage against specs.
• Check stock rotation, batch numbers, expiry dates and supporting docs.
• Monitor quality through batching, mixing, extrusion, baking, moulding and cooling.
• Conduct sensory, moisture and water activity checks.
• Draw product samples for laboratory testing.
• Complete scale verifications and production-line quality checks.
• Identify and escalate non-conforming materials or products per procedures.
• Complete and verify QA documentation and production records.
• Monitor hygiene, housekeeping, food safety and OHS standards.
• Guide and support direct reports and monitor cleaning schedules.
