Job summary

Avatar Human Capital is seeking a Production Planner in Johannesburg to coordinate and optimise production planning, inventory levels and materials availability using SAP. You will align capacity with demand forecasts and monitor KPI performance.

You will lead the Inventory and Materials Planner teams, drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and supply chain operations, and partner with procurement, warehouse and quality teams to ensure on-time, cost-effective production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• At least five years’ experience in production planning, manufacturing, or supply chain roles.
• Experience in FMCG/manufacturing environment.
• APICS CPIM or similar certifications advantageous.
• Strong analytical, planning and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficient in SAP or comparable ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production plans in SAP to meet demand while optimizing inventory.
• Translate forecasts and orders into feasible schedules considering capacity and materials.
• Monitor KPIs and manage write-offs, SLOB and obsolescence.
• Lead continuous improvement and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Coordinate procurement, warehousing and material availability to support production.
