Job summary

BIC World is seeking a Production Team Lead in Johannesburg to oversee Assembly and Moulding production, coordinating schedules and resources to meet targets. You will supervise operators, drive improvements in OEE, and lead continuous improvement within a disciplined manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, quality, safety compliance, and collaboration with maintenance, planning, and quality teams to sustain reliable production performance in a fast-paced FMCG setting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) - compulsory.
• Diploma in Production, Operations Management, or related field - compulsory.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience managing people and production processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience within the FMCG industry is required.
• Technical or engineering experience will be advantageous.
• Formal training in supervision or production management will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Production Planning and Execution: ensure daily targets in line with S&OP and adherence requirements.
• Team Leadership: lead and support Supervisors and production staff to ensure alignment with objectives.
• Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimize downtime.
• Autonomous Maintenance: drive autonomous maintenance practices and ensure routine tasks are performed.
• 5S and Workplace Organization: implement and maintain 5S standards in production areas.
• Continuous Improvement: identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Quality Assurance: ensure products meet quality standards and support root-cause analysis.
• Safety and Compliance: ensure safety procedures and company policies are followed.
