Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Airline Operations Controller to join the flight operations center in Stellenbosch. You will oversee daily fleet performance, ensuring safety, punctuality, and efficiency while managing disruptions and coordinating with crews, maintenance, and ATC.

This role requires deep airline operations knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to make rapid, informed decisions under pressure. A hybrid working arrangement may be available to suit operational needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in airline operations, dispatch or flight control.
• Strong understanding of airline operations, flight planning, meteorology and ATC.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• Superb communication and interpersonal coordination across departments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time flight status and adherence to schedules.
• Coordinate responses to disruptions including weather, technical issues and delays.
• Liaise with flight crews, maintenance, ground staff and external agencies.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and company policies.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and improvements.
• Authorize flight plan changes and ensure fuel planning and load control.
