Job summary

SBV South Africa in Cape Town CBD is seeking a diligent Firearm and Asset Controller to manage the gun vault, issue and receive firearms and equipment, and ensure the accuracy of registers and permits. You will verify competency documents, maintain security through strict access control, and align with Firearms Control Act and PSIRA requirements, while supporting daily administrative duties.

This permanent role requires at least 3 years of CIT experience and Grade 12, with training in Factt and

Qualifications

• 3 years CIT experience with firearm and competency knowledge.
• Grade 12 education is mandatory.
• PSIRA registration and firearm competency certificates required.

Responsibilities

• Issue firearms, ammunition and assets; ensure correct handover procedures.
• Validate SBV employee identity and authenticity for gun vault access.
• Maintain accurate firearm registers and verify permits; balance vault daily.
• Adhere to Firearms Control Act and related regulations; report incidents.
• Load system data, maintain documentation, and assist with admin tasks.
