Job summary

SGS is hiring for a Senior Fire Assay Laboratory Supervisor in Gauteng. You will oversee the FAS floor, ensuring adherence to established procedures and CP modules, while coordinating with team leaders to meet turnaround times and quality of results.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in the relevant discipline.
• Knowledge of Laboratory Quality Management System (ISO17025 and SANAS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the FAS floor per Competence Modules (Weighing, Fluxing, Fusion, Cupellation, Digestion).
• Ensure proper shift handovers and punctuality with day/night/weekend rotations.
• Coordinate activities with Team Leaders to meet turnaround times and quality targets.
• Report daily production figures to Section Manager with explanations and evidence.
• Support investigations into irregularities/non-conformances in Fire Assay processes.
