Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Architect in Nelspruit to lead the design and implementation of scalable software systems for fintech products. You will define technical architecture, set coding standards, and mentor engineers in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate has 7–9 years in software development, with 3–5 years in architecture or lead roles, and deep experience with microservices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and container tech (Docker/Kubernetes).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7-9 years in software development, with 3-5 years in architecture/lead role.
• Proven experience building scalable, distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of microservices, cloud platforms, and containers.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and/or C#; SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in hybrid work environments; fintech exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee high-level software architectures for new and existing applications.
• Define standards and best practices for software development.
• Evaluate technologies, frameworks, and tools for system development.
• Collaborate with PMs, developers, and QA to ensure delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.
• Address technical debt and performance bottlenecks.
• Maintain architecture docs and design specs.
• Lead code reviews and ensure coding quality.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends.
