Job summary

Indsafri is seeking aPayments Solutions Architect to join our Johannesburg team. You will design scalable payment architectures, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and evaluate gateways to deliver secure fintech solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in payments/fintech, strong API and cloud skills, and deep knowledge of PCI DSS. You will mentor dev teams and contribute to architecture docs, diagrams, and client discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/SE or related field.
• 5+ years of payments technology or fintech experience.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing payment solutions.
• Strong knowledge of payment systems, gateways, and processors.
• Expertise in software architecture, API design, and integration.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Solid programming skills (Java, Python, C++).
• Experience with database management systems and data modeling.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS and security/compliance practices.
• Familiarity with project management methods and collaboration.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP) are a plus.
• Willingness to travel within SA and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure payment architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate payment gateways, processors, and technologies.
• Ensure PCI DSS and industry compliance across solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers.
