Pro Talent is seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of banking and payments systems in Durban, South Africa. You will ensure seamless integration, robust architecture, and governance across projects.

You will define integration patterns with core banking, payment switches, and third parties, while guiding non-functional aspects like HA, DR, and capacity planning to support scalable fintech platforms.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 4+ years in solution or enterprise architecture roles in banking/fintech.
• Proven track record of production-ready banking/fintech solutions.
• Strong understanding of FICA, GDPR, PCI DSS, SARB/NPS compliance.

Responsabilidades

• Design comprehensive end-to-end architectures for banking and payment products.
• Define integration patterns with core banking systems, payment switches, card schemes, and third-party providers.
• Develop ledger, reconciliation, settlement, and clearing workflows.
• Oversee non-functional aspects: high availability, DR, capacity planning, performance optimization.
• Lead build-vs-buy assessments and vendor selection processes.
• Produce architecture artifacts such as solution designs, data-flow diagrams, API contracts, and threat models.
• Establish architecture governance frameworks.

• Design comprehensive end-to-end architectures for banking and payment products
• Define integration patterns with core banking systems, payment switches, card schemes, and third-party providers
• Develop ledger, reconciliation, settlement, and clearing workflows
• Oversee non-functional architecture aspects, including high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and performance optimization
• Lead build-vs-buy assessments and vendor selection processes
• Produce architecture artifacts such as solution designs, data-flow diagrams, API contracts, and threat models
• Establish and chair architecture governance frameworks

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering
• 4+ years in solution or enterprise architecture roles, preferably within banking or fintech systems
• Proven track record of architecting production-ready banking or fintech solutions
• Strong understanding of FICA, GDPR, PCI DSS, SARB/NPS compliance requirements
• Experience with microservices, cloud architecture, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and system design
• Ability to produce detailed architecture documentation and diagrams

Familiarity with the following is highly advantageous:

• Financial Technology (Fintech) and Financial Services industries
• Technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and cloud platforms
