Job summary

AES Global in Cape Town is recruiting a Financial Accountant to join a fast-growing fintech that moves money across borders daily. You will own month-end close, cost attribution, reconciliations, and drive automation to reduce manual work and improve reporting accuracy.

Collaborate with treasury and FX teams to align the financial plan with currency exposure and payment flows, while embedding robust tax compliance. Hybrid work four days in the office with Wednesdays remote.

Qualifications

• Four years or more in an accounting role with close, reconciliations and reporting experience.
• Xero hands-on experience.
• South African tax treated in practice (income tax, VAT, PAYE).
• Experience building reporting and dashboards to support decision making.

Responsibilities

• Carry your part of the monthly close—journals, balances, and sign-off readiness.
• Reconcile bank and payment gateway statements across multiple currencies.
• Engineer repetitive reporting and reconciliations to be automated.
• Own cost attribution across products and business units for leadership insights.
• Build dashboards and reporting views showing real-time cost and performance.
