Job summary

Apex Group in South Africa seeks an Accountant to support monthly closes, asset registers, payroll, invoicing and VAT. You will assist the finance manager with variance analysis and contribute to timely management accounts. A university degree in Accountancy or ACCA final stages and solid Excel skills are required.

The role, based in Cape Town, offers a fulltime on-site position with exposure to global finance teams and a dynamic, expanding business environment.

Qualifications

University degree in Accountancy or equivalent/Final stages of ACCA qualification.
Ability to work to and meet agreed deadlines.
Ability to work under pressure.
Competence in Excel, general IT, and accounting packages.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Audit experience would be ideal, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the preparation, review and reconciliation of monthly accruals and prepayments.
Maintaining fixed asset registers.
Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.
Preparation and assistance in the monthly payroll process.
Issuing client invoices, maintaining aged receivables and related matters.
Preparation and reconciliation of all revenue.
Preparation of cash flows and related analysis.
Assistance in periodic VAT returns.
Assisting in month end process and submission of monthly management accounts.
