Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (PTY) Ltd in Franschhoek is seeking a professional, energetic waiter to join a luxury hospitality establishment. The role requires delivering exceptional dining with warm, discreet yet efficient service and strong knowledge of the menu and wine list.

You will greet guests, provide polished service, manage dietary notes, upsell menu items, and work closely with the Restaurant Manager to maintain the highest standards of presentation and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ waitering experience in a fine dining environment.
• Sound knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits and beverages.
• Proficiency with POS systems (Easipos advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally in accordance with standards.
• Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times.
• Understand the sequence of service and anticipate guest needs.
• Be aware of table allocations, dietary requirements and allergies.
• Inform the kitchen of guest food requirements or allergies.
• Have complete knowledge of the menu and wine list to assist guests.
• Assist guests with non-menu requests and upsell where possible.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate when needed.
• Familiarise yourself with shift day sheets and events to deliver high-quality service.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables according to standards.
• Perform cleaning tasks and stock-taking as required.
• Stock restocking of fridges and bar areas using FIFO.
• Set up for picnics, conferences, or events as needed.
• Enter all transactions into the Easipos system.
